TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE so far. Has been a very stressful environment since the moment I arrived 2 weeks ago. Unit not ready for move-in, miscommunication with prices, lease not reflecting correct verbiage (a legally binding document), constant errors with my online payment portal, AC breaking after 4 days. Most recent is dealing with a guy named Logan. The management company lost my rent payment that I paid on June 1st, as a requirement of being able to move-in. I showed him the reference number that THEIR website provides and showed him the transaction # for my bank account. This wasn't good enough. He decided to tell me on a Friday, 15 minutes before 5pm that he needs my monthly statement from my bank. I told him that this was ridiculous that I am the one having to jump through hoops to prove I paid rent when it's clearly their system. I told him that this apartment company sucks. I was clearly upset, and he goes on to say that "in his line of work, the people that are upset are usually the ones that are wrong"....so now I'm being accused of not paying my rent. So of course I told him I no longer wish to speak to him and that I'll just speak with the Leasing Manager, to which he replied "I'm higher than them". I asked him repeatedly for his bosses number or for anyone in corporate that was higher than him, and he refused to give it to me. He then threatened to send my account to collections and hung up. Very very unprofessional. And I was told this isn't the first time he's spoken to tenants in this manner. I shouldn't be treated like this when I'm the one agreeing to pay $1600/mo to live here.

This is by far the best place I have ever lived!! The location is amazing, so quiet, but also so convenient! And above all, Patty is the best property manager I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. When we came to tour before moving in, she immediately made us feel comfortable and confident in the property. When it came to move in day, she was so communicative and helpful in all that we needed. And since living here, she has been so prompt and responsive on all things we have brought to her attention. Best of all, she is always down for a lovely chat and makes you feel so welcome here!!! If you're thinking about moving, there is no better place than Elm Apartments. Also, there's always a front parking spot for your apartment, no walking way too far to get to your front door :)

It’s been almost a year since moving here and it honestly has been a really good place for me. Most of my issues are handled within the same day. Very quiet area and love that white oak park is super close!

I wish I could give it ZERO starts. This is the REAL experience and pictures when dealing with this management team. Please take the time to read the email to Ahuva that outlines our experience below and why they are misleading and thieves. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!! Ahuva/Jaclyn, I’m not sure why we are going around in circles when we know that is not true. Our conversation per our phone call that evening was that we both agreed this situation was inappropriate and unacceptable. I specifically asked for my prorated July, August rent, and security deposit. I said I understood the application fee was something we could not get returned. Jaclyn agreed and said she’d reach out to Ahuva to explain the situation and we’d hear back the following day. We were then advised on Friday that Ahuva took a “last minute vacation” and would contact me on Tuesday. Ahuva- Let’s discuss this overall situation and explain to me how you feel it’s morally and professionally acceptable to not refund the $500…. As a business owner/landlord, I can’t comprehend how you didn’t verify with your team in the physical location, what the layout of the apartment was- our communication via email stated it was a 3 bed / 2 bath, when in reality it’s a 3 bed / 1.5 bath (no such apartment according to Jaclyn exists in this complex). That you felt it was appropriate to rent an apartment with broken appliances (dishwasher), missing appliances (washer/dryer), missing door (half bath), holes in doors (2 bedrooms), beer cans and trash on the balcony, broken blinds and screens, dirt all over the floor, and an awful smell to name a few of the problems. (Jaclyn was shown photos.) Jaclyn was aware that we’d be arriving a few days after our lease began and said it was good to “give her more time to get the cleaners to come.” So you can only imagine our shock and disappointment when that was what we walked into. We know that someone (maybe Jaclyn?) from the office had seen the condition as they left a note and piece of paper for us to fill out and return. After going to the office, and driving through the complex to see the unsettling conditions of the property and leasing office, it was admitted to us that Jaclyn did have us down as an arrival on 8/7. Fortunately for your team, when we received no response about our arrival time, there was no need for anyone to meet us to give us keys, because the door was wide open for anyone to walk in. After expressing our disappointment with the unsafe conditions, we were met with Jaclyn who also expressed disappointment and was “on the verge of tears” as it was explained to us it was “one disaster after the next” for her, since she had taken over a few weeks earlier. To be honest, that’s not my concern or problem. My problem (besides the condition of the apartment) is our communication and lease agreement said it would be a 3 bedroom / 2 bath and washer/dryer. This is a clear misrepresentation and a material inaccuracy in the lease agreement. Jaclyn was nice enough to meet us at the other property to show apartments there, to see if they met our needs. I didn’t think I could be more shocked after our initial apartment, but after walking into the shared laundry room, I was speechless. How someone could believe that was an acceptable condition for people paying for these amenities is as disgusting as the condition of the venue itself. Given the facts that you stated you had a 3 bedroom / 2 bath with a washer & dryer, the condition of the apartment, the condition of the overall complex, I cannot understand how you feel it is appropriate to withhold a refund. Would a court agree with this decision? The repeated excuses provided throughout this process have made the entire experience unacceptable. Refusing to issue a refund under these circumstances is indefensible. The lease was not correct, the experience has been wholly unacceptable, and the responsibility to correct this situation rests with your office. I expect this matter to be resolved promptly with a full refund of $500.

Living at Elm Point Apartments is a blast! The location is perfect, and the staff? They're basically superheroes without capes. Need something fixed? It’s like they have spidey senses and are on it before you even realize there’s a problem. The community events are surprisingly fun, and the place feels like home. I’ve never had so much fun mingling with neighbors—I mean, who knew apartment life could be this entertaining? If you're looking for a place that’s the cherry on top of your living experience, this is it!

CUSTOMER BEWARE! Talked to Logan, very rude. Not Military friendly! Will talk to you like a child and talk over you, very condescending!. We had a 15 minute phone call, of which 13 minutes was him talking. He wouldn't identify his title, when asked for supervisor he said the owner of Elm Point. I asked who is that, he said I should know. Tried to explain I'm a Gulf War veteran w/ PTSD and that he need to tone it down, he tried gaslighting me and said I was the problem. After his 13 minutes of nonsense, he said "I'm done taking to you" and hung up on me. Do not rent from here or Oak Point in Normal, save yourself the pain of having to deal with someone like Logan. In addition, I've added photos of their lovely laundry room.
